Patty what? Patty Mills!

After losing our minds for the entire course of the game every time Patty Mills touched the ball, we hung around after the game, met his family, and got to meet him on the Blazers home court. Awesome guy, he said everyone knew we were in the building. Definitely a highlight of the trip so far. This is us, centre court, with his family.

We run the Rose Garden...

So before we all left on the tour, I emailed all the NBA clubs for the games we were going to attend while over here, and with the Blazers game, we wanted to get as close as possible to the court so we could all cheer on Patty Mills. One of the Blazers ticketing staff organised us some awesome tickets, 10 rows from the court, opposite the Blazers bench, so we thought we would go all out. Posters, signs, flags, and a lot of noise. Everyone in the stadium knew where we were from withing 10 minutes, with "Aussie Aussie Aussie" chants in full effect. It must of worked with Patty Mills getting 24 minutes of burn, with 8 points, 4 assists and 2 steals, and he played the entire 4th quarter, and the Blazers got the win. Of course we went off the dial when he scored his first bucket.

Nights out in Portland...

1st place we went to? Dead... Second Place? Dead... Third place, not quite dead but enough for us to turn it into a party and own what little dancefloor they had. Fordey is still in Pre-Season mode, working on his box outs.

Nike Employee Store...

So say we unleashed at the Nike Employee store here in Portland is an understatement. We all spent 30 minutes walking around wondering where to start. Now all we need to do is bribe the airlines to let us on the planes with all this extra luggage.

Balling at the Bo Jackson Centre...

Today I got to do something I have been wanting to do for a very very long time. Visit Nike World HQ in Portland, Oregon. It really is quite unbelievable. It's a massive place, different buildings everywhere. Had a look at the "Michael Jordan Building" (of course) and managed to find our way to Bo Jackson Centre, which is a 4 level gym. We found the full length basketball court on level 3, and decided to have a bit of a 3 on 3 session. It was a jeans and tee's game as we didn't have the right gear, but it was good just to put up some shots on a court that Michael Jordan has shot on.

I can't believe she said yes...

We arrived into Portland, and my friend Becksy who I worked with at Nike Head Office in Melbourne agreed to let the "Do It Live" tour band members stay at her place. We are going to try slow down our rock star habits for this leg of the tour, we promised not to launch her TV out her window. We are definitely putting her out in a big way so a big thanks to Becksy for putting up with our shit.

Patty, does it live...

So we are winding up our last night in San Fran, and Patty decides he wants to do it live, in the spirit of the whole tour. Check the before and after...

Jeremy Lin runs these streets...

Even though he didn't get on, even after our cries from the crowd to "Get Jeremy On," we still had to show respect to the one player that runs the bay area, ya boy Jeremy Lin. Fordey copped probably the sickest pick-up of the tour so far.

Golden State...

Seriously, traffic, get out of my life... We headed to Oakland tonight to watch the Golden State Warriors take on Minnesota Timberwolves. Game started a bit slow, but then Monta Ellis took over, dropping 19 in the third. Awesome to watch, dude finishes so well. Highlight of the game, was this...

Golden Gate...

Got our tourist on again today, took a drive over the Golden Gate. The nickname for San Fran "Fog City" was definitely living up to it's name, with the fog on full display. The actual bridge is incredible, and the view we got from the top of a hill on the the other side was even better. Listening to Patty and Fordey talking about derivatives was not though. Maths is for the classroom, not the Do It Live tour, except when I need Fordey to figure out the tip.

And then there were 6...

Our bass player "Cream" arrived on the tour today. We took him out to Berkely where he will be doing a stint at college, seemed like a very cool town. We somehow managed to find the one venue open on a Monday night, and thank god there was a Mel's diner across the road, no late night salads this time though...

Pre Drinks...

Probably shouldn't end up with corn chips throughout your bed and parts of the hotel falling on your head... Or should they?

San Fran = The American Melbourne...

San Fran definitely feels like Melbourne, from the trams, to Fisherman's Wharf, it just really has a Melbourne feel. Some crazy guy in the street asked us where we were from, we told him Melbourne, he began to rant about how San Fran and Melbourne are sister cities, talked about our prime minister, seemed to know more about Melbourne than me.

The origin of doing it live...

People keep asking where the whole "Do It Live" theme comes from, well, for those who haven't seen, it came from this video.

Football in San Fran...

Sunday Football seems to be where every single person in San Fran goes on a Sunday arvo. We ended up parking "Van Damme" in what seems like Oakland, and walked past a million trucks all with Bar-B-Que's connected to their engines cooking up food. Don't know what it is about opposing fans though, they all want to start something with the home team fans around them until they get kicked out.
