Tron'n like a boss...

What do you do when the city is quiet and a severe blizzard storm is on it's way to NYC? You take in a movie, but when you are on the tour you don't just 'see' a movie, we Do It Live and see Tron on IMAX in 3D. The effects in this movie are insane, and Daft Punk took film scores to another level.

Christmas Dinner...

After spending most of Christmas day opening secret Santa presents, sleeping and watching NBA, we made it out on the town to take in Do It Live family dinner. We found a nice restaurant in midtown Manhattan that had a Christmas Dinner special, complete with turkey, vegetables (which have been few and far between on this tour) cranberry sauce and some lovely lovely conversation. Just lovely...

Merry Christmas live from NYC...

Current local temperature is -6 degrees. Loving it. We had our own little secret Santa here in our apartment. We picked 2 names out of the hat to get each other presents. Our Christmas tree was some sort of shrub with a bow on it, but it did the job. There was about 10 hours of NBA on today with games back to back, not the worst way to spend Christmas day abroad. Hope all the tour fans had a good Christmas wherever you are, keep checking the blog, still have a week in NYC before we head to Miami.

Subway Stylin...

Public transport can be pretty boring at most times, that is of course until you hit NYC. If it isn't some little kid trying to steal your wallet, or some dude trying to sell you designer handbags for 5 bucks each, you get to see some of the dopest street performers. These guys were doing this all day. Melbourne train stations... Get better...

Empire State of mind...

Got ourselves organised enough today to go to the Empire State building. It is pretty awesome to see the entire city from so high up. The audio tour was great as it pointed out all the famous landmarks. Of course, we did it live while there, as you can see with the below photo we purchased in the gift shop. Zac looks a bit weird though...

More band members join the tour...

Seems like everyone wants to be apart of the Do It Live tour. My brother Haydo, his girlfriend, his housemate John, and NYC socialite Carlos met up with the crew last night in Brooklyn. Nothing like going bowling in Brooklyn, then have Questlove of the Roots spin some records for you for a few hours. Cool ass venue. Special thanks to MC for putting up with my brother and I's drunken shenanigans back at their apartment.

The Cage...

About a 2 minute walk from our apartment in NYC is the famous West 4th outdoor basketball court, nicknamed The Cage. We used the D-League ball we got at the NBA store and hooped it up with some 4 on 4 full court action in minus 2 degree weather. We had some fans who kept taking photos of us, not surprising, our skills were on full display for NYC to see.

2 more join the tour...

Just when you thought the Do It Live tour couldn't get any more live, it just did. Caleb and Hayden also known as King of the Sands and Dos, are joining the band in our horn section. They joined the tour at a place called "Piano's" in the Lower East Side. Awesome music, strong drinks, and like all bars, there is always one dickhead. One dude who thought he was on dancing with the stars, decided that he was going to try his moves right in the Do It Live dancing circle... Nah son... Then he started talking smack and taking swings, of course, I copped a fist in the eye, but because the dude was a complete clown, it didn't hurt. My face is still as pretty as it always was.

Times Squizare...

Times Square is exactly like Tokyo, lights everywhere, people everywhere, and so many things to look at. Of course, took the touristy photos. Headed to the NBA store, for ballers, it's like heaven on earth. So of the awesome purchases include an official outdoor D-League ball, Blazers pajama pants and NBA store training shorts. I think a few more trips to this store will be on the itinerary.

Blowing up our room...

So we arrive into NYC, get to our apartment fine, love the area, love the rooms, everything is good. First thing we need to sort though is the heating. It seems to already be on. It's some old school piping system that goes throughout the entire building. You cant turn it off in one of the rooms and it has a slight hissing. Fordey and myself are trying to go to sleep night one, and the hissing is building and building. Next thing we know it's a full blown noise and we think, nah son, not putting up with this, so we start to attempt to fix it. One thing leads to another, and the valve flies off and our room start filling with boiling steam. Awesome. We manage to get the valve back on, but no sleep until 7:30 am. Always an adventure on the Do It Live tour.

Touchdown in NYC...

We landed in NYC last night, somehow they cut an hour off our flight, get off the plane, freezing. 12 days of zero degrees is going to be fun. Also thanks to old mate for jumping in our photo last minute...

Cirque Du Soleil...

After fail nights out of us walking the strip trying to finding anything thats happening in this town, we thought for our last evening in Sin City we will do something else this town is famous for, it's stage shows. We ended up going to see Cirque Du Soleil's "Mystere." It was awesome, and to think there is another 4 different shows the Cirque company do in Vegas, all year round, it is really unbelievable they find these people who are able to do the things they do in these shows. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Vegas. Next up, tomorrow we leave for NYC, the city that never sleeps, with our current sleeping patterns, that will suit us all just fine.

Patty's Birthday and O-Tang joins the tour...

After the fail that was the first night arrival in Vegas, we shifted Patty's birthday celebrations to the next night. Zac Barry met us in Vegas and the 7 man "Do It Live" crew was complete. We thought we might as well dress up for the occasion, somehow that ended up dressing up the same, somehow that meant we looked like Mormons. The week before christmas we found out is ghost town in Vegas, no one around, clubs pretty empty, but you still have to pay premium. Everything costs here, everything... Another black mark against Vegas. Ah well, we looked good. If you are wondering where the birthday boy is in the photo? We gambled him on a game of Craps, and lost...

Vegas Fail...

What can I say about Vegas that hasn't already been said about Kwame Brown's basketball career... A massive disappointment. We arrive into Vegas in style, a baby stretch Hummer down the strip to our hotel, and that's where everything went bad. Planet Hollywood didn't have our rooms, and could only offer us rooms with one King size bed in it, and charge us extra, nah son... A few of the boys went for a stroll and ended up getting us bigger rooms, with our own double's, at New York New York. Our only hope was that things get better from here.

Nights out in Portland Part 2...

So after we met up with our boy Patty Mills we once again hit the town, but this time with a guide, our new friend Norm. He definitely was in the Aussie spirit rocking the Socceroos jersey, despite being born in LA. We hit an awesome place, no idea what the name was, but they played the music we wanted to hear (except Teach Me How To Dougie) and cheap drinks. The Aussie Aussie Aussie chants kept rolling all through the night. Good times. And if you are wondering about the hand signal? It's a Blazers thing...
