Back For The Future Part II...

So i went to the "Invite Only" auction for the Nike Air Mag at NIKETOWN tonight. There was a bunch of sneakerheads and rich parents in attendance. One guy was bragging about already buying 3 pairs for his son on eBay. Get out of my life. The bidding started hard and fast and i put my paddle up like the rest of the crowd at an opening bid of $1000. it was at $11,000 within 10 seconds. This pair was 1 of 10 pairs in the world to come in a special case and this case was signed by Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). The same dude that was bragging, backed up all that talk, with a winning bid of $13,500. Pockets... i managed to snare a limited edition ceramic replica, closest I will ever get i think.

All of the lights...

Mum hits the big 6-0

So the main reason we are over here was to celebrate the old duck's 60th birthday party. We headed to The River Cafe in Brooklyn, which has one of the craziest night views of Manhattan. Mum requested we be bright eyed and bushy tailed for her birthday dinner, which was always going to be a struggle for me as i haven't really slept yet on this trip, me and the bro took that a bit too literally.

Bushy tailed = unshaven faces
Bright eyed = us trying to open our eyes wider all night...

And then mum and dad decided to get involved...

The view....

Mid Street Massage...

So what do you do when you are feeling sore and a bit tense after walking up and down Wall Street? Just lie on the ground and this guy will work you over, dead set in the middle of the Wall Street... How much? Free of course...

Gap Year...

Traveled over the bridge again to Greenpoint, Brooklyn to catch the taping of the Hamish and Andy show. First you meet at a bar, then get bussed over to BK with the rest of the audience, then have yourself a drink on Ham and Andy at a bar, then over to the studio, and onto the green room, but only if you are apart of the Do It Live tour. I think it has aired back in Oz already...

Ayo I step correct!

Only in NYC, do you walk past a coffee shop, and their sign to entice people to come in does not say something like "Try our Coffee" or "Best in NYC" no, it has a chalk drawing of Busta Rhymes and lyrics from his song Woo-Ha... I don't even drink coffee but I almost started right then and there... Only in NYC...

Live from Planet Brooklyn...

The plan today was to head down to ground zero for the anniversary, but after struggling with massive jet lag still, and discovering that I'd have to pass through 4 to 5 checkpoints to get down there (i can handle being frisked probably about 2 to 3 times max) the decision was made to head to Brooklyn to check out the Sunday Market. After seeing some awesome face tatts (reverse face flames on the left side only) on the walk across the bridge, i made it to the land of Biggie and Hova. Pick up of the day had to be the Biggie "One More Chance" 12" vinyl for $3. It also gave a pretty good view of Lower Manhattan...

The Fam arrives...

So the whole point of this trip was for everyone to be in the same place at the same time for my mum's 60th birthday... With the bro already working over here NYC was the destination for the Do It Live tour 2.5. There is so many friends over here at the moment, the tour members keep growing...

Back For The Future...

So when i finally got internet access over here, all i saw all over Facebook and all the normal sites was that Nike were releasing the Air Mag, aka the Back To The Future shoe. Probably the single coolest shoe ever. They had the launch of it at 21 Mercer Street Nike Store, not far from where I'm staying in NYC. If only i had a spare 4K, i would rock these everywhere...

In flight wildin...

So after a sleepless 15 hour flight, I get on my connecting flight to JFK, which I am currently on now (mile high blog), and I think maybe I can try smash some sleep out on this plane ride. I shut my eyes and I'm borderline dozing off on take off, only to be woken up with every single person on the plane screaming their heads off saying "Smoke! Smoke!"... People are jumping up, one lady ran down to the exit isle, people pressing the assistance buttons, people are wildin... What do I do? Sit there and put my headphones back on and continue listening to Watch The Throne... See i've done this dance before, it's just a little condensation from the air conditioning. No Biggie Smalls... I guess they all just wanted a head start on the Do It Live 2.5 tour. Of course now everyone on board is talking 9/11...

Guess Who's Bizack?!

Everyone's favorite travel blog is back! You asked for it, so i had to give the fans what they wanted. This will be a whirlwind return to NYC, doesn't really deserve it's own blog, I guess we could call this the Do It Live Tour part 2.5. I will be meeting up with a bunch of friends and family, and of course, spreading the Do It Live philosophy, so keep checking, and see if we can crack the 10K views mark for your girlfriends favorite blog.

Tour Sign Off...

Well the tour has finally come to an end, it's been awesome. Big shout out to everyone that joined us along the way. The LA Kids from the Hookah Lounge, Becksy and Norm for showing us a good time in Portland, the girls from Melbourne who we seemed to see everywhere in NYC, Carlos for showing us the place to bowl in BK, Dos, Caleb, Prakash and Josh for getting involved in all things Do It Live, and everyone else we met along the way. We changed lives and the tour changed ours. Special thanks to the parentals for bailing me out after doing it a bit too live in Vegas. Stay tuned for some player profiles on all the tour members and their finest moments. Hope you have all enjoyed the blog, see you on the next tour.

LA's Finest...

Last day in the USA, we are doing a bit of a drive around, checking some last sights before we go. At the red light, one of the tour members points out what seems to be a lady at a bus stop with her pants around her knees... On closer view, we were right... I've heard of Port-A-Potties, but bus stop toilets? Must be an LA thing...

Let's Go Lakers...

So our last night in LA we hit up another NBA game, Lakers v Hornets. During this game Kobe scored enough to make him 9th on the all time scoring list. Other highlights include some clown wearing a Celtics jersey amoungst a heard of Lakers season ticket holders. We heard more chants of "Celtics Suck!" than pro Lakers chants. Post game as said clown was leaving the game they had to wait until all Lakers fans were off the esculator before letting him down, and dude still didn't put his jacket on until he was outside...

Venice Beach = Tripper central...

While at Venice Beach we checked out the skate park. So many awesome skaters, from lil kids up to old mates. One old mate in particular kept trying to pull a move he couldn't nail, and was getting fired up and kept launching his board. Awesome. Then he asked everyone to put their head between their legs and look at the sun set, shown in the photo below...

We didn't put our legs between our heads, but i just turned the camera upside down... Pretty amazing...

White Men Can't Jump...

After getting up at 4:30am to catch a flight to Memphis, which then connects on to LA, whats the first thing most people want to do? Catch some Z's... On the Do It Live tour though? We don't muck around. We headed straight to Venice Beach to take on some locals on the world famous Venice Beach courts. I've been wanting to go here since Sidney Dean and Billy Hoyle got it done in one of the best basketball movies of all time. Definitely another highlight of the trip. P.S. We owned those courts...

When luggage management goes wrong...

We all knew we had bought a bit of stuff while over here, but i don't think it really hit us till we tried to pile it all in a 8 seater minivan as well as ourselves. Planning fail...

The Tour Boys go their separate ways...

It's been all the way real, but it was time for the band members of the Do It live Tour to go in different directions for the las leg of the tour. Cam and Zacca headed to New Orleans before stopping by North Carolina and DC. Caleb and Dos stuck around in south beach before heading back to LA, and B, Cream, Patty, Fordey and Myself headed back to LA before returning home and Cream heads off to college at Cal Berkley. We thought it was only right to sit down for one last lunch together. Stay tuned though as updates will still be coming in from around the tour.

Swoop Swoop...

So we are walking around South Beach, and some girl comes past in a 6 seater electric car screaming Swoop Swoop. She says she is giving free rides, we need a ride, problem solved. What I wasn't expecting though that this would be the most gangster white chic I've ever come across. She seemed to know every word to 99 Problems by Jay-Z. I need to step my lyrics game up.

Rawse the Bawse!

We went to the Miami Heat v Bucks game to witness what will one day be considered two of the greatest players to ever play, Keyon Dooling and Joel Anthony... I kid I kid... LeBron and D Wade are that good it's insane. Highlight of the night though was definitely that my boy Rick Ross the boss was in the building. He runs Miami, was hoping to hit the South Beach clubs with him post game, but he got stuck in traffic according to his twitter...

Trawling for Gators...

Did the touristy thing you do while in Florida, visit the Everglades, and go air boating for some gators. The first few we saw were massive, I was positive they were fake, they wern't. Airboating was awesome, but not as awesome as the animal show handler. He didn't say a word while everyone sat down, and when he did speak, his voice just didn't seem real.

When your shorts do it live...

At some point during the Orange Bowl, tour percussionist Caleb's shorts did it all the way live. Almost as if he was meant to be a Virginia Tech fan...

Nikki Beach...

So the hostel organised a night out to a place called Nikki Beach, everyone from the hostel meets at 10:45, then trawls to the club. On this walk Brenton managed to walk straight into a parking meter, face first, one of his finest moments of the tour. The old mate from the hostel said to expect a couple of thousand people, he wasn't lying. Also Caleb and Hayden rejoined the tour after doing it live at a Diddy party in Vegas...

Orange Bowl...

A spur of the moment decision ended us up at the college football Orange Bowl. We were pumped to find out our tickets were in the very very back row. Awesome view, you get to see all the fans in all their glory, like the Virginia Tech fans sitting in front of us. Gutter trash is too nice of a compliment for this bunch. Tramp stamp on a 50 year old, check, dude starting a fight with his best mate, check, dude spewing up a storm all over 3 isles, check. I love college football.

Searching for Kim...

So there was something on my personal list of things to do while in USAyo... To find Kim Kardashian, tell her I'm a fan and see if one thing leads to another. This was a close as I got, the Dash store in Miami. I'm sure Kim has been following this blog, so, what up Kim?!

Welcome To Miami...

Thanks Will Smith... Arrived into Miami after the worst flight we have had yet. Staying at a backpackers which has 7 of us in 4 doubles. Fun. Miami is going off though, with the Orange Bowl College Football game in town, and everyone still keen to party after new years, there is people everywhere. Our hostel is taking us to a beach party tonight apparently expecting a couple of thousand people. New Years part 2.

The Day After...

Having to be up and out of that apartment was a task we were not looking forward to. We had to pack our bags, which we all discovered we did not have enough room for, get them down the 4 flights of stairs we walked 4 times a day, and get the apartment clean. Thank God Smagod for late checkouts...

New Years in NYC...

We decided to keep it indoors, the roads were a slush fest after the blizzard and we had heard times square was a nightmare. We decided to go to a club called Griffin in the Meat Packing District. Awesome place, of course every table and chair was reserved for bottle service, and we wern't feeling that baller. Soon as the open bar started at 9pm the drinks came hard and fast. Drinks over here arn't like drinks back in oz, and New Years eve the alcahol to mixer ratio was rocking at about 90% alchahol, 10% mixer. Our boy Josh Kelly joined the tour just in time for the Do It Live new years eve party. Here is some of the nights finest photo's...

Never judge a book by it's cover...

Or an underwrear box aparently. Z Barry went all in on the Ralph Lauren underwear game. He liked what they looked like on the box. What he got was some grandpa tighty whities... They would dead set come up to his chest... Bidding for these starts at $1 US...

Statue Of Liberty...

We went to statue of Liberty, and the queue was about 3 km's long, so what did we come with? a photo of Brenton grabbing some golden metal bull's balls...
